The S A & D copper mining company have taken delivery of their second steam locomotive, a Quarry Mamod 0-4-0ST which will be named "Dick Callum".
This engines completes the required steam fleet for the Gulch copper mine alongside the Mamod Tram "Bridget" built in Low End Works in 2023.
The new locomotive was built by Mamod in Birmingham and originally delivered in March 2024 but actually entered service in June 2024 following various modifications in Low End Works.
Work was also needed on the station platforms at Horseshoe Cove and Swallowdale in order to increase loading gauge clearances for the large Quarry Mamod.
