Steam pipe and inline lubricator for No2

Submitted by andrew.sdr on

The main steam pipe for loco No2 rebuild has been made from 1/8 copper pipe in two sections:

  1. The inline displacement lubricator to be located in the cab
  2. The pipe itself from the lubricator through the firebox to the rotary type reversing valve under the smokebox

The main steam pipe is routed via the inside of the firebox in order to provide very basic superheating of the live steam on it's way to the reversing valve.

This will deliver dry steam to the cylinders which gives greater engine power than if traditional saturated steam is fed directly to the cylinders.
