The new Industrialised Tram Engine project is progressing slowly. Current status is:
- Work on modifications to the frames and chassis is complete
- Buffer beams and buffers are in place
- The cab ends are complete and in place
- Steelwork for the side panels has been cut and shaped
Newly decided features of the design are:
- The regulator will be a wheel type similar to those used on the SdR battery locos, and a Wilesco control wheel has been ordered from Forest Classics
- The roof will have a large cutout to allow access to the regulator wheel, goodall valve, displacement lubricator and visibility of the steam pressure valve
- The port side of the loco has the front end cab doorway moved back so as to allow access to the blowdown valve and visibility of the water level gauge glass
