Steady progress on No2 Boy Roger rebuild

Slow but steady progress is being made on the rebuilding of former Mamod Mk1 No2 Boy Roger.

Recent works done on the project are:

  • New chimney completed with brass cap
  • Cab floor cutouts made to accommodate RWM displacement lubricator tank
  • Cab roof made from sheet steel
  • Hole drilled in firebox end-plate for superheater pipe to pass through the firebox

Works still to do are:

  • Make and fit steel bar to support rear of cab roof
  • Make and install four roof locating pegs
  • Make saddle tank and fix to firebox
  • Install Summerlands Chuffer and exhaust steam pipe
  • Install superheater pipe and displacement lubricator
  • Install boiler, firebox and saddle tank
  • Make and install copper cowl for safety valve in cab
  • Make mounting bracket for fuel tank
  • Fit gas jet
  • Fit new valve to fuel tank
  • Install fuel pipe and fuel tank
  • Paintshop
