Loco No4 Capt John has been fitted with a new smokebox door designed and made from mild steel sheet in the works.
The locking mechanism makes use of the dart handles and an internal catch. The catch engages with a horizontal locking bar.
- The catch is made from the steel mandrel out of a pop rivet
- The locking bar is made out of an old wire coat hanger
