Because the new cab for No1 A B TITTY is much taller than the original it has been necessary to make a new taller chimney. This has been made from 1/2 inch copper pipe.
A brass chimney cap was purchased from Roundhouse Engineering Ltd and the new copper chimney stack was filed to make it fit.
Araldite "Rapid Steel" two-part epoxy adhesive was used to fix brass cap to stack and stack to smokebox. The resin is heat resistant up to 100 C and this claim will be put to a full test when the rebuilt locomotive is steamed for the first time.
