LED lights to use as headlamps came from Switch Electronics in Hull:
- The LEDs were bolted into holes cut in the cab fronts just below the roof level
- A single 9 volt PP3 rechargeable was fitted into a switch box from Maplin and bolted onto the cab bulkhead in No.2 end cab
- This was wired to a chocolate block bolted next to the headlamp above No.2 cab
- Wires were run from the chocolate block to both headlamps which are wired in parallel
- Wiring connections were done in soft solder
